Echos in Space.

I love vintage effects.
When I was growing up, my dad was into into 70’s Jazz and one of his favorite artists was Hubert Laws. He told me a story about a night when he went to see Laws live in Dallas, and he got there early and listened to him warm up and when he left the stage before starting the set, his sound just kept going and didn’t stop. Turned out he was using one of these…..

So my dad bought one soon after that show (which never actually happened. Laws’ manager wouldn’t let him go on due to money issues) and I remember being fascinated by it even though I had no clue what it did.
Fast forward 20 or so years, and my dad gets a hankering and buys another one (he sold the original one he had). I had been making some music and recording it myself and i asked him if I could borrow it and try it out. I feel in love with the sound, and one of the results was a song I called Breathing Again.
The Space Echo has a fantastic sound, and is even used by such gentlemen as Jonny Greenwood, but it is pretty delicate. Which brings me to the point, the new Boss pedal that I need to acquire soon.

This thing is so sweet!! It gives you the sound without the fuss of an actual tape and a big box to lug around. One of the things I’ve been thinking about lately is playing music live at venues and if I start, I’ll have to pick one of these up for sure.
In Rainbows - From The Basement.

This is about the best thing I have ever seen on a screen, television or otherwise.
You can buy it, along with 9 other tracks from In Rainbows and the bonus disc from iTunes for only $7.99. It is an absolute steal.
I love how Radiohead always kicks me in the pants and makes me want to make more and better music.
