i fully expected the mavs to roll tonight. i don’t know what happened. oh, yes i do. it’s called run-n-gun offense. the style of offense that requires two things and two things only. 1. run at all times, and 2. as soon as you see an open shot, shoot. the ironic thing, is that don nelson, the architect behind this mavs team was the inventor of the offense. now its a huge pain in the mavs side.
i love the suns and steve nash is my favorite or second favorite player in the league, he and kobe frequently flip flop for me, but at this point in the season, i’m tired of watching them. dallas is far superior as a team for me. the suns have some talented players to be sure, but they don’t get it done as a truly skilled team of basketball players.
raja bell has got to go. he has sent me over the edge in not being able to root for the suns. he’s a poor man’s bruce bowen with a better jump shot. i’m so sick of seeing the clutching and grabbing and pulling and faking the ref into calling the offensive foul, i could swear off basketball on the tv for the rest of the season. if i never see that move again for the rest of my life, it’ll be too soon. it degrades the game and makes the officials look worse than they already do, because they’re making these rediculous calls. i was taught the same trick, you get real close to the man you’re guarding and when the ref is behind you, preferably on the baseline, you pull the man’s jersey and yell real loud while pulling the man down on top of you to make it look like he pushed off. the ref has to make a call and if he can’t see the grab, for the ref itrs a no brainer offensive foul. its dirty and cheap and ugly. i guess that describes bell’s game this playoffs. i could go on and on and on but i’ll move past this.
miami looks like they’re destined to go to the finals. 3-1 is all but impossible to come back from at this stage in the season, the legs just aren’t there. detroit is starting to bicker and dessention looks to have set in with some blaming of the coach. that’s not a good thing.
miami v dallas is an exciting possibilty. miami v suns = 4th ring for shaq. i might break down dallas v miami later in the week if that starts looking more realistic. going back to dallas will be good for the mavs.
